Boulder-based startup accelerator operator
Techstars is again running the startup accelerator for the
Walt Disney Company, the
Disney Accelerator, which Disney says will begin July 6th. Disney said that it will accept ten startups for the program, which will award up to $120,000 to companies and pair them with mentors from Disney and elsewhere, to help them get off the ground. The program will be the second year for the Disney Accelerator, and will culminate on October 6th with a Demo Day. Among last year's participants in the Disney Accelerator were two, local Boulder companies--
Smart Toy (acquired by Cartwheel Kids), and
Sphero, the robotic ball maker -- both of which already had ties to Techstars.
