Time Warner Cable Invests $85M In Colorado Data Center Expansion

Denver-based Time Warner Cable is investing $85M in an expansion of its Centennial, Colorado data center, to support delivery of its digital video and IP services. Time Warner said it broke ground Tuesday on the expansion of its National Data Center West, which serves its residential and business customers. Time Warner said the data center is used to support customers across 29 states. The upgraded facility is expected to go online in January of 2015.

Time Warner said, once the project is complete, it wil have invested more than $141M in the facility since 2011. The data center--along with a matching data cener in Charlotte, NC--hosts all of the email for Time Warner's customers, billing records, and other applications and services. Time Warner says it employs 70 at the Denver facility, and expands to expand by around 25 percent after the project is complete. The construction effort will also temporary add around 400 jobs for building out the data center.
