Denver-based colocation and IT services provider ViaWest said today that it has been selected by Hitachi Data Systems (HDS), for that company's United States data center. ViaWest said the win is worth $6.6M over five years. HDS will house and market its IT infrastructure in ViaWest's Compark Data Center in Denver, in a 3,600 square foot space in the location. Compark has 140,000 square feet of raised floor data center space at that data center. Hitachi, a developer of data storage products, said the expansion in Colorado goes to compliment a new facility in Colorado, which it says is an extension of its headquarters in California.
