Enjoy listening to your favorite tracks on music service Spotify? You might thank Salt Lake City-based Fusion-io, which said today that Spotify is using the company's product to accelerate its music databases. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed, but Fusion-io said that its ioMemory platform is being used by Spotify, to help deliver music from its Apache Cassandra database. That database is being used to serve up music tracks to Spotify's listeners. Fusion-io's flash-based disk drives are used by companies for applications where low latency and fast access are required; flash disks are much faster than their spinning disk equivalents.
