Fusion-io Wins Lawrence Livermore National Labs
Salt Lake City-based Fusion-io, which develops flash-based solid state disk drives, said today that Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory has standardized on its products for creating what it says is the world's highest performance storage array. Fusion-io said that LLNL has create an onver one terabyte storage array based on Fusion-io's dual 320GB enterprise MLC ioMemory modules. The project, the Hyperion Data Intensive Testbed, was created for the National Nuclear Security Administration, a project designed to accelerate high performance computing for ensuring safety of the nation's nuclear weapons stockpile without undergournd testing. Fusion-io said the storage rray delivers 40,000,000 IOPS and 320 GB/s of bandwidth.
