Epic Playground, a Boulder-based startup out of the 2012 TechStars Cloud program, said today that it has launched a new product,
MediaGauge, into beta. The product lets website owners send custom, in-browser messages and offers to users based on what video users are watching. The firm said the product--which is launching to a few select, Beta customers--can present specific targeted offers, invitations, surveys or branding communications while users are watching media. The firm, founded by Michael Sitarzewski, said its interactive ads don't interrupt audio or video, and appears much like notifications do on Mac OS X. The firm said it is now aiming to sign up beta website owners willing to try the tool out ahead of the upcoming SXSW conference.
