Thin Film Maker Global Solar Lays Off Employees, Shuts Operations
According to a report from Inside Tucson Business, thin film solar panel maker Global Solar Energy has laid off all of its employees and is shutting down operations. The report said that the manufacturer of thin-film solar products told its employees earlier this month that it would terminate their employment and cease operations. The firm is just one a large number of U.S.-based solar energy technology providers who have run into hard times lately, most who have been unable to compete with rock-bottom prices from Chinese solar panel manufacturers.
