Louisville, Colorado-based solid state storage provider
NexGen Storage said today that it has deployed its systems at the Colby-Sawyer College in New Hampshire, as part of a virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) deployment. Financial details of the win were not disclosed. NexGen said that the college is using its NexGen n5 Series storage system, to deploy 600 VDI desktops. Virtual desktops are used by companies to remotely manage and centrally deploy desktop PC images, rather than maintaining individual personal computers and their configuration. NexGen is venture backed by Next World Capital, Grotech Ventures, and Access Venture Partners; the founders were previously the founders of LeftHand Networks.
