Ascent Solar Launches Galaxy S III Charger
Thornton, Colorado-based flexible, thin-film photovoltaic module manufacturer Ascent Solar has rolled out another, consumer product, saying today that it has launched a new solar charger for the Samsung Galaxy S III smartphone. The company--which has recently begun a consumer push for products that incorporate its thin-film modules--said it expects to debut the design in South Korea in October, with rollout sometime before the holidays here in the US. Ascent recently began creating its own line of consumer products using its thin-film solar panel technology, which is a big change from the company's initial push to provide its technology under license in the building-integrated photovoltaic market.
