Homefacts, an online service which provides health, environmental, safety, and other information about homes, has been acquired by
Realtytrac, the online service which tracks home foreclosures and properties. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed by the companies. Homefacts founder James Moyle will become President and Chief Operating Officer at Realtytrac with the acquisition. Homefacts was founded in 2007, and provides data to home buyers, including such information as environmental issues, geological conditions, local schools, location of local convicted offenders, crime, and other data to potential home buyers. Realtytrac is known for its tracking of foreclosure rates and trends, and operates an online marketplace of foreclosure properties.
