Denver-based
SpotXchange, the online video advertising marketplace operator, has launched a new consumer service today to help consumers skip online video ads. The new service,
SkipIt, allows consumers to skip video ads on participating sites--by paying 10 cents per advertisement. The service so far has a small number of online sites signed up for the new service, however, the firm said it is looking to help balance the needs of publishers, advertisers, and consumers with the service. Brand name publishers signed up for the service include IDG TechNetwork and TechMediaNetwork, along with other lesser known partners. According to SpotXchange, the new SkipIt service will also be providing "free skips" to consumer in the future for engaging with brands.
