Two Salt Lake City-based venture capital firms,
vSpring Capital and
Signal Peak Ventures, the newly formed VC fund headed by Ron Heinz and Brandon Tidwell, said this morning that the two have combined their partnership, and will operate under the Signal Peak Ventures name. According to the firms, the new partnership will be led by Dinesh Patel, Ron Heinz, Scott Petty and Brandon Tidwell, all of whom will be Managing Directors of the firm. Ed Ekstrom, currently of vSpring, will become Venture Partner at Signal Peak. The two firms said that they decided to combine efforts, due to the partners working together in the past, because of a great deal of mutual respect for each other, and because they felt that they would work well together in a formal partnership. The combined firms said they will manage over $450M in committed capital, with continued focus on both technology ane life sciences. The two did not say if they'll be renaming the vSpring v100, the extremely popular ranking of the top entrepreneurs in Utah which had been issued by vSpring every year.
