Sorenson Media, the developer of video encoding and decoding software and related tools, said today that it has updated its flagship Sorenson Squeeze software. The firm said the updated, Sorenson Squeeze 8 Pro adds updates to its video encoding and transcoding application, including support for 12-bit pixel bit depth, Dolby Pro audio encoding, better support for Avid DNxHD encoding and Apple ProRes formats. The updated app costs $999. Sorenson has major development operations in Salt Lake.
