Denver-based
NewsGator, the provider of social networking software for businesses, reported today that it has linked with a provider of compliance software,
HiSoftware, to add compliance features to its products. NewsGator said the move allows HiSoftware Complainec Sheriff--software used for monitoring a company's activity stream--to automatically flag and report issues like posting of obscenities, sexually suggestive material, hostile language, passwords, trade secrets, protected health information, and more on the firm's social software. NewsGator, which works as part of the Microsoft SharePoint platform, allows users to post status updates and converse in a similar way to Facebook, Twitter, and other public social networking sites. The two said that Compliance Sheriff for NewsGator Social Sites is available today; pricing was not announced.
