IHS Acquires Seismic-Micro Technology
Englewood, Colorado-based IHS Inc. said Tuesday afternoon that it is acquiring Seismic Micro-Technology, a developer of geoscience software, for $500M in cash. IHS said the acquisition is the largest in its history. Seismic Micro-Technology is base din Houston, Texas, and develops software for hydrocarbon exploration. IHS said the acquisitoin will increase its ability to offer geoscience software and data products to customers in the energy industry, its largest end market.
