Tucson, Arizona-based Tri-Tronics, a designer and manufacturer of electronic dog training equipment, has been acquired by GPS maker Garmin Ltd.. Garmin announced the acquisition on Friday, but did not disclose financial terms of the acquisition. Garmin said the buy would help it expand its position in tracking and training of sporting dogs and household pets. Garmin said Tri-Tronics will continue to operate out of its headquarters in Tucson, operating as a wholly owned subsidiary.
