ON Semiconductor Sees Japan Impacting Revenue
Phoenix-based ON Semiconductor said it expects to see a negative impact to revenues in its first quarter, due to disruption to its business in Japan. ON, which gave an update on its operations Wednesday, said the impact could be in the range of two to four percent of its revenues. The firm said, although there have been no on-site injuries to its employees, there will be an impact on infrastructure such as fuel, electricity, gases, water, chemicals, and logistics to its various facilities in Japan, not to mention impact on its customers and suppliers in Japan. The firm said it is expecting a temporary shutdown of operations at its facilities in Aizu and Gunma until those services can be reliably restored, and intermittent production disruptions at its other sites as well.
