Catalyst, the provider of electronic discovery, litigation support, and other document storage services, said this morning that its data center in Japan was not damaged in the Japan earthquake. The firm also reported that all of its personnel in Tokyo were reported safe. Catalyst has a data center, housed in the Equinix facility in the Shinagawa ward in central Tokyo. The firm said that--despite the quake--the company's data center remained online for its customer, and Internet connectivity was maintained. The firm did say that its Tokyo office did suffer some damage in the quake but was sound. Among other efforts, Catalyst said it has created a fund,
Legal Professionals for Japan, to help in Japan's recovery. Catalyst just opened its Tokyo data center in January.
