Carefx, a provider of patient information systems and software, has been acquired by
Harris Corporation. Harris said it will pay $155M in cash for Carefx. Carefx was founded in 2002, has nearly 250 employees, and was venture backed by Appian Ventures, Carlyle Venture Partners, CB Health Ventures, Grayhawk Venture Partners, Highway 12 Ventures, Pelion Ventures, Solstice, and Village Ventures, and had raised somewhere around $37M in total venture funding. Harris said that Carefx's products are being used by more than 800 hospitals, healthcare systems, and health information exchanges.
