Ciris Energy Gains Backing From Khosla

Ciris Energy
, a developer of technology aimed at the natural gas production market, said today that it has scored a second round of funding, led by clean technology investors Khosla Ventures. Financial terms of the investment were not disclosed. Ciris said the funding also included prior investors Braemar Energy Ventures, Rho Ventures, and GE Energy Financial Services. Ciris is developing technology which biochemically converts coal to methane. The firm is headed by Jerry Clark.
