Ascent Media Buys Monitronics
Englewood, Colorado-based Ascent Media said late Friday that it has acquired Monitronics, a provider of security monitoring services for homes and businesses. The deal was worth approximately $1.2 billion. Ascent Media is controlled by John Malone, and recently sold off two of its business units in the entertainment and media business.
