Associated Content, the social publishing and user-generated content firm which was acquired by
Yahoo in May, has been relaunched today by Yahoo, as the Yahoo! Contributor Network. According to Yahoo, it has launched its new platform which allows writers, photographers, and videographers to contribute their content to the site, and get paid by the company. Yahoo said it already has more than 400,000 writers, photographers, and videographers signed up for the service, and is now providing content to its Yahoo! News, Yahoo! Finance, Yahoo! Sports and other media sites. Yahoo reportedly paid at least $100M for Associated Content. Associated Content was headed by Luke Beatty and backed by Angel Investors LP, Canaan Partners, and SoftBank Capital.
