Associated Content, the content publishing firm founded by Luke Beatty, has been acquired by
Yahoo, Yahoo announced Tuesday afternoon. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed, however, some reports place the acquisition at over $100M. According to Yahoo, it will use the acquisition to extend its ability to provide high quality, personally relevant content for its users. Associated Content uses crowdsourcing to develop articles about topics likely to be of interest to Internet users. Beatty started Associated Content in 2004; the firm had raised funding in the past from Angel Investors LP, Canaan Partners, and SoftBank Capital. Associated Content had raised around $21.4M in total venture funding, according to the Techrockies.com venture database.
