Fort Collins-based Advanced Energy Industries, a developer of solar energy inverters and other related products, said today that it has expanded in Canada. The firm said it has created a new legal entity in Ontario, to provide local support to customers in the region, and has also tied with an electronic manufacturing services provider in Ontario to locally manufacture its Solaron and PV Powered, grid-tied inverters in the location. Advanced Energy's inverters are used in conjunction with solar panels to convert DC solar power to AC power usable by homes and businesses. Advanced Energy said the new facility will increase its worldwide production capability--and also help meet local content rules required by Ontario's new feed-in-tariff (FiT) program.
