Advanced Energy, the supplier of solar power inverters, reported this week that it has scored a win in Ontario, Canada, via solar developer Moose Power. Advanced Energy said its inverters will go to power six projects in Ontario, which will produce more than three megawatts (MW) of renewable energy. Financial impact of the win was not disclosed, however, Advanced Energy says it will be delivering more than 500 inverters as part of the install. Advanced Energy develops solar power inverters which are used to convert DC, solar power to usable, AC power. The installs in Ontario are supported by the very favorable Feed-in-Tariff (FIT) program which is being run by Ontario Power Authority, which makes it advantageous for companies to install power to feed into the region's power grid; the FIT program pays above market rates for solar power generation.
