ViaWest, a provider of colocation and managed services, reported today that it has acquired the data center assets of Salt Lake City-based
Consonus, a provider of colocation services. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. ViaWest said the acquisition increases its footprint to six data centers and approximately 100,000 square feet in the greater Salt Lake area. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. ViaWest said the acquisition ups its number of employees to over 50 in Utah. As part of the acquisition, ViaWest said its Seniro Vice President and Utah General Manager, Bob Newman, will manage integration and consolidation of COnsonus; Newman recently joined ViaWest from the LDS Church, where he was IT Director.
