ViaWest said yesterday that it is planning a major expansion of its data center capacity in Utah. According to ViaWest, is is adding an addition, 14,000+ square feet in one of the firm's three Salt Lake City area data centers. According to the firm, the expansion is expected to be complete in Q4 of this year. The company explained that the expansion was driven by continued requests for growth capacity by its current customers, and increased demand from prospective customers. ViaWest also maintains four data centers in Denver, six in Dallas, and one each in Austin, Las Vegas, and Portland, Oregon.
