DISH, EchoStar Hail Patent Ruling
Englewood, Colorado-based
DISH Network
and
EchoStar
are hailing a ruling made Tuesday by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, which has rejected software patent claims made by competitor
Tivo
. DISH and Echostar said that they were "pleased" by the rejection, saying that the patents in question are the same ones that they had found to have infringed in a separate lawsuit against the firms by Tivo. Tivo said the patent claims rejections were ""separate and apart" from its litigation against Echostar.
