Englewood, Colorado-based DISH Network, and EchoStar Technologies were hit by a ruling today in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, when the court affirmed a contempt finding by the district court in a lawsuit from digital video recorder (DVR) firm Tivo. Tivo said that the ruling clears the way for it to receive around $300M in damages and sanctions from Echostar. DISH and EchoStar said they wre "disappointed" by the decision, are proposing a new design-around to the district court, and that DVR customers are not impact at this time by the ruling.
