Sion Power Snags $5M In ARPA Grant
Tucson-based Sion Power, a developer of rechargeable lithium-sulfur batteries for portable power and electric vehicle markets, said Friday that it has received a three year research grant from the United States Department of Energy Advanced Research Projects Agency (ARPA-E), worth up to $5M. According to the firm, the grant will go towards accelerate development of economical and safe lithium-sulfur (Li-S) batteries for powering electric vehicles. Sion Power said it has 62 employees working on its energy technology.
