Dot Hill Systems, a developer of data storage products, has significantly boosted its patent portfolio with six new patents. According to Dot Hill, it added the six new patents over the last few months, bringing its total patent portfolio to 62 patents. The new patents include use of super capacitors and flash memory for its cache memory in its storage area network products, as well as a number of patents covering failover and redundant storage controllers. The firm said the patents included U.S. patents include 7,661,002; 7,627,780; 7,661,014; 7,673,185; 7,676,600, and 7,681,089.
