Lindon, Utah-based AccessData, a developer of computer forensics tools, said Thursday that it believes it is now the "world's largest" forensics software company. The firm said it is basing the claim on examination of public disclosure and analysts reports. No financial details were released by the company, which is privately held. AccessData had attempted in 2008 to acquire competitor Guidance Software, which earlier this week said it had total revenues of $74.9M in 2009, down from $91.5M for 2008. AccessData said it is "now in a clear leadership position" in the industry.
