DAZ 3D, a publisher of 3D models and 3D software, said today that it has merged with Israeli software provider
Gizmoz. The two said the merger will create an online marketplace for high-quality, and inter-compatible digital characters and accessories. Financial terms of the merger were not disclosed. Both companies develop 3D models used by computer game firms and for 3D computer animation. Gizmoz is based in Tel Aviv, Israel. As part of the merger, the firms said they have received a new round of funding from venture firms Benchmark Capital, Highway 12 Ventures, and Columbia capital, along with DOCOMO Capital and Village Ventures. Financial terms of that new funding round were not disclosed.
