Electric energy storage firm
Ice Energy reported Tuesday that it has hired John McGee as chief operating officer. The Windsor, Colo.-based firm said McGee will oversee the deployment of its energy storage and smart grid technologies while also managing the marketing, manufacturing, delivery and deployment of Ice Energy products to utilities. Most recently, Ice Energy said, McGee was COO for Union Switch & Signal. He has also held leadership positions with General Electric, Johnson Controls, EMCOR, ABB and Finmeccanica and is currently chairman of the International Facility Management Association's board. Ice Energy develops cooling and refrigeration energy technology used to reduce costs of air conditioning. The firm is venture backed by Energy Capital Partners, Goldman Sachs, Good Energies, SAIL Venture Partners, and Second Avenue.
