Opx Biotechnologies, a developer of technology for transforming biomass into biofuels, said Monday that the firm has closed on a $17.5M, Series B funding round. According to the firm, the round was led by Braemer Energy Ventures, and also included Altira Group; MDV, Mohr-Davidow Ventures; and X/Seed Capital Management. OPX said its process to transform renewable biomass feedstock into fuels and green chemistry products will be lower cost than petroleum-based alternatives.
