Grow Utah Ventures reported Tuesday that the entry deadline is nearing for its Salt Lake City area "Concept to Company" contest. The privately funded, not-for-profit organization noted that it expects more than 100 entrepreneurs and early stage businesses will enter by the April 17 deadline. The event's focus, Grow Utah Ventures explained, is on new medical devices and technology. Grow Utah Ventures said the grand prize winner will receive $10,000 in cash and $10,000 in services, while two runners-up will get $5,000 in cash and $5,000 in services. Zions Bank, USTAR and the Salt Lake Community College's Miller Business Resource Center are also event sponsors. The organization was created to encourage and advise entrepreneurs and early stage businesses throughout the Beehive State.
