Lumidigm Inc., a manufacturer of fingerprint-scanning and other biometric sensors, reported this morning that it has designated an exclusive distributor for India and the nearby island nation of Sri Lanka. The Albuquerque, N.M.-based firm identified its new partner as Analogics Tech India Ltd., the Subcontinent's largest handheld terminal manufacturer. In addition to distribution, Lumidigm said Analogics will back Lumidigm's products with an extensive local technical support team. Founded in 2001, Lumidigm is a privately held company backed by Draper Fisher Jurvetson, Epic Ventures, the International Venture Fund, Intel Capital, Methode Electronics, Motorola Ventures, New Mexico Co-Investment Partners, Solstice Capital and Sun Mountain Capital.
