VacationRoost Snags Former Orbitz Executive For Board
VacationRoost.com, an online marketplace for vacation rental properties, reported Tuesday that Michael Sands has joined its board of directors. Sands, the Park City, Utah-based company said, is the former chief operating officer for online travel agency Orbitz Worldwide, a position he accepted after Orbitz's 2004 sale to Cendant. VacationRoost.com said Sands left Orbitz in 2006 and currently works in private equity, investing in the travel and e-commerce sectors. Before Orbitz, he held senior marketing positions at General Motors, Giant Step and Leo Burnett. He also sits on the board of Youbet.com.
