Denver-based MapQuest, the online mapping site owned by AOL, said Tuesday that it has launched a new set of local features it is calling MapQuest Local. The new feature includes news, events, videos, and other "locally-relevant" content. The new localized information page provides a portal-like, customizable screen which users can select what information they'd like to see on web "widgets". Default information included on the pages include restaurant reviews, news feeds, gas prices, and weather. The new site is available at local.mapquest.com.
