Cleantech Market Grows In Q1
Ernst and Young and Dow Jones VentureOne are reporting that clean technology investments nationwide increased in Q1 of the year, and were up 18% to $571.6M. The firms said the segment saw continued growth, despite an overall drop in the VC markets. Investments were up from the $483.9M invested in the same period in 2007. According to the report, the largest portion of the cleantech investments went to alternative fuels, where $178M was invested int he quarter. Energy/Electricity Generation received $148.3M, and Energy Efficiency $116.4M for the period.
