Denver-based Jabber Inc., a developer of instant-messaging software, revealed Tuesday that it has won a five-year contract that will allow the company to license its presence and messaging applications to federal, state and local governments. Jabber said the U.S. General Services Administration awarded the contract, which took effect nearly a month ago and won't expire until early 2013. Jabber explained that its newly won status as a vendor under the GSA Schedule Group 70 contract program enables it to offer the Jabber Extensible Communications Platform, optional client software, interoperability gateways and additional services to all government entities.
