Santa Fe, New Mexico-based Packet Analytics said today that it has launched a search engine tool targeted at enterprise network data and security forensics. The firm said its Net/FSE software is focused on security incident response, and is a browser-based tool for security analysts. The software is based on technology licensed from Los Alamos National Laboratory. According to Packet Analytics, its software can be used to search network data for impacts of security alerts and security breaches; the software runs on the Linux operating system.
