Denver-based Ping Identity, a developer of single-sign on software used for enterprise networks, said Tuesday that the firm has upgraded its flagship title, PingFederate. The firm said the software, now at version 5.0, adds new features that the firm says allows users to create secure connections in seconds, versus weeks or months with other products. Ping's software is used to allow for a single username and password to be used across multiple computing systems and software applications. According to Ping, the upgraded software automatically creates connections using the SAML (Security Assertion Markup Language), replacing what was a manual process of configuration by administrators. Ping is venture backed by Appian Ventures, Draper Fisher Jurvetson, Fidelity Ventures, General Catalyst Partners, I-Vent, and SAP Ventures.
