Boulder, Colorado-based RegOnline and Lindon, Utah-based WingateWeb have both been acquired by a California-based provider of online sports registration and community services, The Active Network. San Diego-based The Active Network did not disclose financial details of the acquisitions, but said that it had acquired both firms this morning. RegOnline provides online registration services for meeting and event planners; WingateWeb provides software for managing events for large enterprises. Active Network said that the two companies would continue to operate out of their respective offices. RegOnline has more than 60 employees; WingateWeb has more than 85 employees. RegOnline's customers include Sony, Hitachi, Raymond James Financial, Burger King and General Mills; the Active Network did not disclose names of customers of Wingateweb, but said it was used by large technology companies to streamline customer conferences and other internal events.
