Colorado Springs-based Simtek Corp., a manufacturer of nonvolatile static random-access memory, reported Tuesday that it has hired Andrew Broom as vice president of engineering. Simtek said Broom will report directly to Harold Blomquist, president and chief executive officer. Describing him as a 20-year veteran of the design and product engineering field, Simtek said Broom joins the company from AMI Semiconductor, where he worked as vice president of product development. Prior to AMIS, he held various engineering and management positions at LSI Logic, Crosspoint Solutions, OM Associates and VLSI Technology.
