Jabber Inc., developer of the Jabber Extensible Communications Platform for enterprise instant messaging, revealed Tuesday that the British Internet and communications service provider BT Group has chosen Jabber's XCP protocol to provide instant messaging for its 21st Century Network program. Jabber explained that the 21CN program is an ongoing network transformation project that will replace the United Kingdom's existing Public Switched Telephone Network with an Internet Protocol system. Jabber said the transition will also help accommodate on-demand interactive television, mobile television and mobile radio services. Jabber added that its deal with the BT Group includes consulting and development services. Founded in 2000, Jabber is headquartered in Denver.
