Kyocera Solar Breaks Ground On Tijuana Facility
Scottsdale, Arizona-based Kyocera Solar is set to break ground on a new solar module manufacturing plant in Tijuana, Mexico, the firm said today. Kyocera said that it will hold a groundbreaking ceremony on June 6th for the new plant, which is expected to quadruple the firm's production of solar modules to 150MW by the end of March 2011. The new facility is scheduled to complete in early 2008. Kyocera Solar is a major supplier of solar energy modules used both in commercial and residential use. The firm recently announced an effort to invest $250M in expansion of capacity across its manufacturing sites.
