SCO, Partners to Give UNIX Apps GUI Feel
The SCO Group Inc., a developer of software for UNIX and mobile services, has partnered with April System Design and Alpha Micro to produce GUI-based design tools for UNIX applications, SCO reported Wednesday. The company said giving aging, text-based UNIX programs a graphic user interface should extend the life of those applications. SCO added that the new software, such as April System Design's AniTa Telnet Terminal Emulator and Alpha Micro's TrueGUI, are easy to implement and won't require any rewriting of the original applications. The SCO Group is headquartered in Lindon, Utah.
