Two wireless computer-manufacturing firms, JLT Mobile Computers of Tempe, Arizona., and DAP Technologies Ltd. of Quebec City, Canada, have merged to form Roper Mobile Technology, the companies reported Tuesday. Both companies are subsidiaries of Roper Industries Inc. JLT Mobile's computers are mounted in vehicles for use in warehousing, construction, mining, law enforcement and other fields. JLT's sales have grown 397 percent since 2002, and the company has been named to Inc. 500’s list of Fastest-Growing Privately Held Companies in America for the past three years. DAP Technologies produces the MICROFLEX line of PDA computers for various industries, including utilities, public safety, emergency services and transportation.
