Salt Lake City, Utah-based Tandem Labs, a provider of contract research for the pharmaceutical industry, said today that it has acquired PharmaKD, a provider of mass spectrometry-based pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics for drug metabolite and biomarker profiling. PharmaKD is a unit of Linden Technologies. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Tandem Labs said that it will retain key personnel, intellectual portfolios, scientific instruments, and 7,000-square-feet of operational space located in Boston in the deal. Both firms provide services for the pharmaceutical industry, who use the companies to help investigate new chemicals. Tandem is backed by DW Healthcare Partners.
